I am out at a gig in Manchester tonight, so might treat myself to a kebab afterwards. It has been that long since I had one, I couldn't even say how many years it has been.

Morrisons slow cooked beef brisket joint with roasted butternut, parsnips, and carrots. Mince pie and rum sauce for pud. Almost a dry run for crimbo. Only dry if you don't have a drink... Cheers! |

Slow cooked game stew. Various bits of dead bird, provisionally identified as pheasant, partridge and pigeon, browned with onions then quoted into a tin of tomatoes, browning pan deglazed with the last of the cooking red, swede and carrot added, few best leaves, some juniper berries (it's a miracle!) and a good helping of fines herbes de paysanne before 6 hours cooking. Delish!

Tonight we'll be having pizza - I'll see how the frozen dough goes for the bases. The rest of the week, though, will be a washout as far as food goes. Tomorrow I start the low fibre diet part of colonoscopy prep...with the laxative part starting on Thursday evening. The colonoscopy is on Friday morning.
