Today I have been mostly eating...
Cooking from scratch, or an old family recipe from Uncle Ben and Aunt Bessie? A 'yellow sticker' bargain, or something involving frankfurters?

I was going to make a 'three-nighter' shepherd's pie - tonight, tomorrow, freezer - but found I didn't have enough potatoes to make the mash, so took a rain-check on that and had bacon and eggs with chips' To save time, after peeling and chipping the tatties I microwaved them for two minutes before putting them in the fryer. Crispiest chips I ever ate!

Our flight into Spain was delayed last night so a bit late to go to a restaurant so we got a McD’s. It was bloody awful. I think the burger was cooked first thing in the morning and left out to dry. Just before serving it at 11pm last night they then put it in a dehydrator to ensure there was absolutely no juice in it, then added some sawdust moulded into a bread bun shape.

Chicken soup plus chicken sandwiches. Ate 1/2 a chicken sandwich too many - in the interest of finishing off the last of Saturday night's roast chicken.

For lunch today had Sunday's leftovers - red Thai partridge curry. Pop it in the microlight and when the lid of the tub (that artfully reseals itself when it starts to get hot) goes *BANG!*, it's ready.

At 2300 hrs there wasn't anything open close to home, we had literally just arrived from the airport, so Mcd's was the easy option (we hadn't even gone to the house yet).

Let me preface this by saying I am not a cook. What stick figures are to an artist, that's me when it comes to cooking. Nonetheless, I tried to make shrimp stew for dinner. One gallon of milk, three pounds of baby shrimp, four cans of Campbell's cream of potato soup, a heap of butter, and plenty of Old Bay seasoning. I know that's about as simple as cooking gets, but dang, it's freaking delicious!

Earlier I put some cooked chicken pieces into the soup maker with some vegetables, herbs and stock and made a smooth soup, It was lovely Now, I am trying to decide whether to make an egg sandwich or some skinny fries with lots of salt and vinegar. Decisions, decisions .....

Last night was braised pork with mashed spud and brocolli. Tonight will be fried cumberland sausages, probably with new potatoes...the older ones are sprouting out of the bag...
