Reports that Labour are standing down their black candidate in Clacton. This may or may not be because he's not racist enough to represent Keir's recently aired hated of Bangladeshis. He was getting more success on social media than Starmer.

Just got a slew of election leaflets through the door.
Reform - hates immigrants Alba - an amusing cartoon of Douglas Alexander reminding us of how he supported the Iraq war, but the only message for/from the candidate was "a vote for Alba is a vote for independence" SNP - all good stuff, but no indication of how they'd do it given they cannot be in power Scottish Green - even better good stuff, with even less indication of they could do it
Nothing from the Tories or Whigs.

According to the Tactical Voting site, Labour would be the vote to go for. However, that is based on the previous result, which had four candidates and Labour came second (15%) to the Tories (71%). This time round, there are nine and guessing which Tory and other voters would defect to could be tricky. But based on the 71% Toriy victory last time, maybe it is a lost cause and resorces could be used elsewhere.
Or you could just pile in on Starmer for... reasons.

The 71% Tory vote from last time would have to be shared with Reform. Labour were in with a chance. The stylish rather exuberant Mr Jovan Owusu-Nepaul might have been popular with Clacton voters who were not racially discriminating.

Possible Labour win, but unlikely, imo.

Report in the Guardian says a party official has told him to leave Clacton. Not to continue campaigning with a reduced budget, but to leave. There's a suggestion that Labour do not want to distance themselves from Reform on immigration, which lines up with Starmer's ill-advised attack on Bangladeshis - which has also resulted in resignations from the party.

Specially for zou. Political oratory in action. You're a gent, but no thanks. The last Farage-related video I watched was this, yesterday. Any thoughts?

I watched a video about Farage yesterday. Someone taped an image of him with an open mouth to the bottom of a pole so dogs could pee on it.

On the bright side. At least we are not being asked to choose between an old orange man baby and an older man who may be going back into nappies any day now.
