What fruit did you have on it? There was one that had charred pineapple on it and some sort of ham. Nearly chose it but opted for one with nduja, caramelised red onion, fresh basil and hot honey instead. It was bloody good. My wife chose one with goats cheese, sweet tear drop peppers, rocket and truffle honey. We ended sharing each others as hers was great too. We have had some great food over here in Ireland.

Yesterday the freezer lucky dip brought forth sausages (sadly to clear this freezer I am going to have to be creative with sausages, mince and burgers as there's rather a lot of them) so I had toad in the hole with steamed and roasted cauliflower
I put some Cajun seasoning in the oil I did the sausages and cauliflower in and also added some to the batter mix
That's what I call a "winter warmer"! I think I may have overdone the seasoning a bit!
Tonight I pulled out some smoked haddock but I added it to thickly cut potatoes, leeks, carrots and some split yellow peas (once they're soaked) and loaded it all in the slow cooker with water tomorrow I'll add some round peas, cream and milk and have a fantastic soup for a few days lunches
For dinner I am having fish finger sandwiches with a pot or two of creme caramel to follow and a bag of baked not fried ready salted crisps

Pizza - home made bases (I'm getting pretty good at these), home made pizza sauce (the tomato was out of a tin), cheese, salami, mushroom, capsicum, capers, pickled artichoke and olives for topping

Sautéed mushrooms and diced chorizo on toast. Pud was a choux bun that I got for the weekend but was still in date.

Garlic and sweet chilli thin slices of pork and veg with boiled rice.
First meal since last Thursday. Remember I mentioned a particularly not-to-be-repeated South African white wine? I recommend it for clearing drains. Proper upset my system. So I enjoyed tonight's dinner and just hope all will remain well with my tum!

Yesterday we drove down from Belfast to Dublin to get the ferry home. Stopped and had a burger King for very early lunch. Christ almighty, what a tasteless thing that was. I always remembered BK as being one of the better ones but this was dreadful. Didn't want any of the overpriced crap on the late afternoon ferry crossing back to England (or more precisely, Wales), so when we finally got home at around 2030, I had peanut butter on toast.

Had the remains of Sunday night's pork Balti (made with a jar of Pattak's sauce) with extra veg added. Dessert was a slice of Sainsburys lemon tart with Sainsburys upmarket custard. Had the tart many times but not with custard. The combination is excellent.

Roasted some chickpeas coated in Ras el Hanout, some roasted herbed radish and served with a mixed salad. Don't think I've ever roasted chickpeas, only cooked on the hob/mixed in with wet ingredients. Sounds interesting.
