Seems to be a recurring theme that I am not complaining about got a luxury fish pie reduced to clear in Lidls served it with buttered sweet corn and garden peas then followed with some Camenbert on crackers with a few grapes

Roast duck tonight. Same price as a decent chicken. I was in Morrisons today and noticed ducks at almost pre bird flu price levels. I have one for later in the week. This evening was a modest length of lamb rack with the expected trimmings. I will cook the second half tomorrow and serve with different veg.

Penne con pesto Genovese + Vault City 'Dark Fruits Cookie Dough Dreamcake' sour beer (8.5%). I think Vault city made the pineapple and chilli beer I had last year. What was this one like? I got round to making the spaghetti carbonara tonight.

I got round to making the spaghetti carbonara tonight. Yes, I have you to thank for an interesting voyage through a variety of crazy sour beers. They are the closest brewery to my home, and I really like their beer. This one was interesting, strong vanilla smells but the dark berry and sourness stopped it from being overbearing. Quite thick texture too. A thumbs up from me. I've had a good number of their releases in the months since your post made me aware of them. None bad, but a couple I might not choose again. I've got another on the shelf, 'From a Gaelic Sea Far Far Away...' which is a whisky cask aged Imperial stout in collaboration with another brewery. They have a couple of exclusives at Tesco and an exclusive at some Morrisons too, so not just the preserve of specialist bottle shops.

There is a specialist bottle shop in Knutsford which is only a short distance from me which sells their brews. I might take a trip over tomorrow.

I can never pass the signs on the M6 without a chorus of "Knutsford City Limits"...
