I was going to make spaghetti carbonara tonight but I really couldn't be bothered (even though it really isn't difficult). Instead going to pick up a takeaway curry in 1/2 hour.

Large batch of the weeks left over Mediterranean vegetables plus left over, cooked chicken. I plan the same tomorrow. The veg was basically what one would put in a ratatouille and cooked the same way. I added fennel and chilli to the conventional recipe. Herbs and seasoning were conventional. Huge belly filling bulk and not many calories, I hope. About half the 'ratatouille' is in a container in the 'fridge'. The rest is inside me. To drink was something blasphemous to wine lovers. I had about a third of a bottle of economical white Rioja left over from yesterday. The very fact that it was left over suggests something of the quality. With great expertise of a lifetime of blending fermented fruit juice I blended it with half a litre of Henry Weston's medium dry vintage cider. The result was rather good. One could taste the individual tastes and smells of the fruit and also got a charming pétillance. (The spelling checker objects. I don't believe that I have invented such an obvious word.)

A mixture. Avocaso and prawns in a light dressing. Two veg pakoras (barely passable). Poached egg on small brioche finger roll.
It was enough. Roll on breakfast.

Pork escalope, buttered new potatoes and sweet corn, put some sweet chilli sauce on the escalope but that was as sophisticated as it got but very nice and a pot of salted caramel yoghurt to follow

Last night - fried bacon with potatoes and salad. Tonight - roast chicken with baked potatoes...then the next two nights will be chicken and leek pie, made with the leftovers.

Properly made silage actually smells quite good. When it goes off, though...
