What are you shooting with, and what would it take to get you to upgrade?

I'm happy with the kit I have (Canon 7dii and 5dii), but if a low shutter count 5div popped up at a good price I could be tempted.

My little Sony Nex-3n still does 95%+ of what I want a digital camera to do. Given the cost of a higher spec a6xxx I'd rather go for a used a7ii/iii or similar. That way I'd also get to use my best lenses as nature intended. On the lens front if I see a used Sony 20mm f2.8 pancake I could be tempted; it'd turn my setup into the next best thing to a Ricoh GR.

I'm pretty much exclusively shooting with my Canon 5Dmkiii but it's had a LOT of use and things are starting to fall off it. One of the pins in the CF card slot is bent and it won't take those cards any more. There's no eyecup, the 'lid' of the mode dial fell off so I have to look at the display to see what it's on if I change it from M and the door for the battery housing is kept shut with electric tape. Can't afford an upgrade yet but I'm hoping that the latest offering from Canon might see a load of people offloading 5D Mk iv bodies soon...hoping.

I have a pair of 11 year old Sony Alpha 850s, both with vertical grips. I have kept them this long because mainly because they are as close to the Minoltas I have used for years - since the Dynax/Maxxum AF 7000, in fact, although I also used the Rollei 2000/3000 system extensively. Both Sonys are in good condition, and I have a stupidly large collection of lenses for them. They suit me down to the ground, and although I sometimes bemoan the weight, I counter this with being selective regarding what kit I take with me when going out to shoot.
I don't think I could be persuaded to upgrade. What I have does exactly what I want, and nothing that I don't want - like live-view and movies. More to the point, I don't think any upgrade would improve my photography in ay noticeable way. I guess I'm just still a film photographer who went digital to save money and dump the darkroom!

I use a Canon Powershot G12, and a Canon 60D for digital shooting. I would only replace one of these if they failed - so wouldn't really be upgrading.

Haven't shot anywhere near enough with my second hand EOS R, not least because last time I went out with it I tripped and fell!
I really want some RF glass for it. If I win the lottery, I'm getting a EOS R5.

I am in the process of upgrading our cameras. There are several reasons; battery commonality being the primary driver but the cost of CF cards, compared to SD is another. Thus the only obstacles to upgrading are money and opportunity. When completed my wife will have 2 x D500 with grips and Iāll have 2 x D5. All using the same battery (EN-EL18) and having CFexpress/XQD cards in common with the D500s using SD cards for economy.

I donāt see myself upgrading camera bodies anytime soon, as I might have too many! Iāve got several Nikons ā 1 series, DSLRs and have recently added a couple of Z series bodies.
What I will probably be adding at some stage is an extra Z lens or two when the range is expanded.

Shooting with a Nikon D750, a Nikon Coolpix P7100 and a Fuji XE-1. It would take a catastrophic equipment failure and a lottery win for me to upgrade.

My Nikon D200 is getting nearly as crabby and falling-apart as its user, but I use manual focus lenses 'cos (a) I've got a bunch and (b) I'm a tightwad, so the upgrade will have to be something that takes those - probably a D7000.
The Canon G10 seems indestructable.
I do plan to upgrade from a non-working to a working Contax III, as a treat to myself with the first paypacket from a new job. Looking forward to that!

"Upgrade" is probably understood primarily as replacing old technology with new, but I'm thinking of the word in terms of expansion. In other words, upgrading capabilities. In that vein, there are two things I'm keeping an eye on. One is anamorphic lenses for X-mount. Two is the upcoming Fuji GF tilt-shift lens (according to their road map due in 2023 sometime).

After a few Nikon D5xxx bodies I upgraded to a used D500 around 2017 and it's not had much use in my hands for various reasons, largely attributed to Boris and lockdown. More and more I'm shooting on Olympus EM10's, mk II or mk IV. The mk II's are IMHO unbelievable bargains on the secondhand market, I got one last year with the kit zoom EZ lens for under Ā£200; I have another from a year or two before before, bought for similar money with no lens though, and the mk IV was bought also used but for somewhat more money a few months before lockdown 1. They are so much smaller and lighter than the Nikon DSLRs that I find them easier to carry around. They're not as good in low light but otherwise for what I take photos of, 99% of the time they are just as good (IMHO)

More or less using Fuji gear most of the time. The days of lugging around my old Nikon kit has long past. So far there's no temptation to upgrade anything although fuji have released a couple of interesting new lens. The 56 f1.2 looks mighty interesting then I just tell myself, when will I ever need something that fast?

The 56 f1.2 looks mighty interesting then I just tell myself, when will I ever need something that fast? When you least expect it! Here in Cyprus there are some very old churches. I was photographing the outside of one in a very isolated part of the mountains when a priest came out and started to lockup. When he saw me, he asked if I would like to see inside, which had some old and unique icons. He said I could photograph, but no flash, so out came the nifty fifty f:1.4, which together with a monopod, did the trick. With an f:1.2 I probably wouldn't have needed the monopod.
