The previous attempt got cancelled due to rail strikes and crap weather. Do we want to try again as the Cathedral won't stay scaffold free forever? I was thinking early September.

I'd certainly be interested in a visit to Ankh-Morpork. As, I suspect, would SWMBO.

I'll probably be away for all of September, so count me out for this one.

Even though I shan't make it, if my mum, either gets placed in a Penticton PCH and, miraculously, transferred to a place in Winnipeg or dies this spring/ summer, there's a sliver of a chance that I might make it. So, I'll cross my fingers Cheers, Jack

At the moment I don't have anything in the diary for early Sept. though Steph keeps mentioning Cyprus in late summer /early autumn but has not booked anything that I am aware of.

A side-question to the thread, if I may:- does anyone on the forum have any suggestions for photogenic/interesting places to visit, in the Salisbury Plain area? It happens that SWMBO and I are going there soon, but she also has her own things to do - which will leave me free to wander around the area pretending to be a photographer.
[Apologies Martin... not seeking to hijack the thread. I would hope it's at least possible that forthcoming replies might actually contribute usefully to any discussion about September's Salisbury meet.]

About five miles south(ish) of Salisbury. I'd be interested in anywhere that would involve travelling up to, say 20-25miles. For a rather short stay, any more than that would probably result in too much time taken up in travelling.

I just checked, Peter, and it seems that Stonehenge is, fairly, close to Salisbury ..at least, in Canadian travel terms Cheers, Jack
