Thank you. Busy morning. Car washed already. Time for breakfast soon. You might even get a photo of that. Snow foam 26:04 by Nigel G, on Flickr

Kate's moon shot reminded me of a couple taken from my bedroom window where the power lines are visible (but sadly in my case NOT helping compositionally) Lightning in IR: IR lightning by Mike Kanssen, on Flickr & another (this time 'full spectrum') ultra flashgun by Mike Kanssen, on Flickr I’m in a similar position , from my bedroom window I have a nice view of a windmill obscured by a television aerial. I think it adds to the IR image more so than the colour which seems anemic in comparison (sorry) Yes the first is definitely my favourite of the two. The lower shot was 'Full spectrum' (IR, visible & some UV) the IR contribution tends to make colours paler & this shot was slightly over exposed - sadly I have no control on the power of lightning and this was a particularly bright flash (or perhaps multiple flashes). Having checked the EXIF the second was at F11 (unfiltered) & the first at F7 with a 720nm filter that typically halves exposure, so roughly equivalent if the lighting was constant. Both were shot between 2.30 & 3.15 in the morning so practically all light from the flashes. I don't bother trying to capture lightning in Daylight. During a good storm at night a 60s exposure has a chance of a strike & records next to nothing without one. Lightning here is nothing like what they have in parts of the States...

I hadn't realised today was "row". Some of the "lines" I was looking for on Thursday were actually rows DSCF7547.jpg by Pete, on Flickr

I'd decided on these rows of apple trees when another photographer popped out the other end. He saw me taking the picture and disappeared again but I'd already pushed the button. DSCF7522.jpg by Pete, on Flickr
