Not quite weather, but our clocks went forward an hour this morning - daylight saving time! I wish that was how ours stayed. Depressing to think this will be an hour earlier next week. Long boring evenings, starting at 6pm, then 5pm, then 4pm... But just think in One hundred and four days time it’ll be Winter Solstice and the day’s will start growing in length again. That’s something to look forward to. Now please excuse me while I have a sleep unfortunately I am not going to be able to hibernate until spring time like a tortoise mores the pity but a nap 💤 until tea time will suffice.

40mm of rain so far today, with 20 more expected before midnight. It is going to rain some more tomorrow, too. I doubt that we're in danger of flooding - the rain intensity is quite a bit less than in June 2015, when we did flood.

Clear overnight so a chilly start, but should be relatively mild later.

Another cloudless blue sky this morning. I think it was clear all night though the forecast said otherwise. In any case I couldn't go out to the obsy to open up as I had pulled a muscle in my lower back and wasn't mobile enough.

Bright and shiny here so far. Despite (or possibly because of) all the rain, half-plot 1 on the allotments is digging almost perfectly, so I'm going to try to get it finished for winter in the next 10 days or so.
Half-plot 2 is a bit more awkward. There's already standing water in the bottom of the edges, although I intend to give half of it up in spring once I've got my brassicas off it, this still means the rest may be too sodden to dig already. That's what happened last year - it then went from sodden to concrete far too fast for me to get it dug. We shall see!

Looks like fun. I used to do that sort of then on (and occasionally under) the Clyde.

We've just had an emergency alert on my cellphone - the mayor has declared a state of emergency for the town. My garage is flooded - it's lower than the house- and the water is up to the bottom of the back door step. I'm just going to hang tight and keep an eye on the water, and I may make myself a cup of coffee.
