My morning has been enlivened by water leaking into the back passage*
Brief inspection showed that, thank duck, it wasn't the freezer carking it but appeared to be coming in where the doorway at the end of the passage had been bricked up. A trip outside showed that the downpipe was blocked, water was backing up, and overflowing the guttering above the ex-doorway and cascading down the wall.
Ten minutes fettling the downpipe - the water butt diverter had clogged with moss - and we were back flowing as we should. However I probably need to think about stopping moss getting in (there should be a trap... has it blown out?), and getting the ex-doorway properly sealed.
*it's at the back of the house, and it's a passage. What else do I call it?

Blue sky and sunshine this morning, but definitely chilly after a long clear night. Makes a change from the rain we've had lately. Yellow warning for wind on Sunday so will have to lock down the obsy roof, just to be sure.

Nice sunny day here too for a change, but quite fresh. Autumn has kicked in quite quickly. Some rain in recent days, but nothing like the amounts some folk have had.

Not quite weather, but our clocks went forward an hour this morning - daylight saving time!

Not quite weather, but our clocks went forward an hour this morning - daylight saving time! I wish that was how ours stayed. Depressing to think this will be an hour earlier next week. Long boring evenings, starting at 6pm, then 5pm, then 4pm...

I love the long dark nights, just wish they weren't always clouded out.

We've a month yet before they change you know. No! What have I done? Changed the kitchen clock to be ready. Must check the calendar in my kitchen. I swear it said today. Grr! PS Damn! I missed the NZ beside the entry on my calendar. Now, do I climb on the table again and change it again? Maybe when I feel more awake. Ha!

PPS Done! I'm nothing if not stubborn - and I'm stubborn. The table isn't half hard on the knees though.

Amazingly, thus far (3 1/4 hours before scheduled start) our last cricket match of the season is still on, despite Theale's proximity to the Thames. I suspect there may be some very muddy whites coming home this evening...
