Love that old Minolta typeface. I have not tried the download and do not know if the site is safe or not. Treat with care.
I've been on that site many times over the years , though I've never downloaded anything . Certainly a useful site with lots of information on .

Post your pictures of your hottest film kit here, but make it look good! You guys doing camera porn down here? If so, I got something for you! View AttachmentThis was my backup Rollei for the one that met a nasty muddy death! My wife refers to AP as 'camera porn', since it features so many things the possession of which can only be a fantasy. However, her 'garden porn' magazine is much thicker and glossier.

I don't often photograph my cameras, but perhaps this shot of my battered old Ensign Ful-Vue will be relevant: Dedham church TTV by Mike Kanssen, on Flickr The first camera I ever used as a child, the mirror came loose.

I have a - sadly very dead indeed - Ultramatic, just don't drop it on your toes or it'll be a trip to A&E, it makes Nikons look like party balloons!

I bought mine a few years ago . Viewfinder and mirror were filthy , shutter sticking etc . It has to be said , its the easiest camera I've ever worked on to repair . I wiped the mirror and glass with a bit of IPA ( no , not the beer type !) Stipped the shutter down , a piece of metal or something and a spring . Cleaned that with IPA , and rubbed a pencil on the contact points for the graphite to keep it lubricated . Works good as new , nice results .

Here's my Edixa Reflex, built by Wirgin of Dresden, and the lens it came with, a Steinheil Cassar - a triplet obviously meant to sound like a Tessar! Then there it is in its new guise for collimating lenses, because the waist-level finder has a magnifier in it that should make it easier to use for the job than my F3 (yes, you read that right, because I have to take the prism off to use it!) - with the new Jupiter-11A fitted. I recall a thread Elsewhere where someone asked why SLRs hadn't instantly supplanted rangefinders in the 1950s and I could say, having used a 1950s SLR, "Have you ever used one?". This is it - no coupling of the aperture, just focus on a screen with no assistance and, worst of all, the mirror doesn't return until you cock that shutter - really disconcerting if you haven't come across it before! Finally - how's your Russian? We've got most of it - it says "Fotoobjectiv Jupiter 11", not sure about the bottom line on the left, but on the right is clearly "Zenit" so maybe "to fit"?

Here's the "coffee can": I know steveandthe dogs was one of the people who recommended this lens, but I can't remember who else now, so please acccept my apologies. Attachments:

Since we're drooling over unusual lenses - here are a couple I won in an auction...a Jupiter 9 f2 85mm, and a Schneider Tele-Xenar f3.5 135mm, both in M42 mount.

The letters are evidently DLJ - could they be Russian for SLR?

The non instant return mirror lived on in medium format SLR cameras right to the end of the film era despite other innovations like TTL metering, open aperture viewing with automatic stop down etc. All things people lived and worked with which today's DSLR or mirrorless users don't have to worry about.

Yep - it's probably the only thing about my SQ-A that I dislike... and that, alone, is probably the reason that the camera gets less use than it properly deserves.
