Again from the words thread, I played Blitzkrieg Bop by The Ramones and as per with YouTube I found different songs/versions and ended up looking at this channel and now watching their version of Smells Like teen Spirit. Amazing how you can see all of the drummers all drumming in time.

A new version of a song by one of my favourite bands, Bears Den. On tour again next year.
And just as I was on YouTube, this is one that I videos at a one of their gigs, which I'm sure I've posted before.
And a beautiful song with a sad story and the thoughts behind the video.

Had forgotten how good a song this is until Tuesday when I wen't round to see one of my old mates for a chat and a jam. He is a guitar teacher and one of his adult students is working on learning this. It became so common for a while that I rather forgot what a great song this is.
TBH while I am not a fan of Rufus (or Martha I much prefer their father, late mother and aunt) this is the only recorded version I have heard that I really like.

You don't like John Cale's version? Never heard it. Give it a go. IMO the best version of the song. You are right about one thing, that is how great the song is. I first heard the John Cale version back in the 90's when I got the album, "I'm your fan" which has many artists covering Cohen's music. It is an album worth playing.

Very good version but TBH I still prefer Rufus, actually my favorite version is probably me.

I love Liz Fraser's version, I hadn't heard this version though. Another Tim Buckley song that This Mortal Coil did was Morning Glory, such a wonderful song and I'm not sure who's version I prefer, but Tim Buckley wrote some pretty amazing songs That's a lovely song Dan. Not heard that before (i don't think). Another song I love by them is holocaust. I'd not heard the original until I got sucked into the YouTube hole. I hadn't heard the big star version before either, wasn't this mortal coil's version sung by Howard Devoto? Seems so long ago now.
