Well they couldn't call it the National Socialist conference could they? That would be an admission of guilt. They're still more likely to use the s word than Labour are tho.

Oh, it's the National Conservatism Conference, is it? Looking at who was saying what in the news I thought it was National Stiff a Sunak day. For the sake of brevity, and brevity alone, shall we call it the nat-c conference?

To go back to basics. Is anyone else creeped out by a non official party conference of the right wing of the Tory Party, including current government ministers, which is funded and organised by a shadowy, foreign right wing organisation?

That's bloody good! It took me a moment, but I got it (eventually ).
It's works well as an abbreviation, since we all know what the 'c' stands for.....

+2 No foreign entity should be financing UK politics in any way, which may upset things somewhat. A foreign owned, UK based, company would be such an entity.

But older people tend to be well off and have passports/driving licences or not so well off and have bus passes. Both of which were acceptable. I am an old fart but am not well off, and not poor, and have a passport, driving licence and bus pass. I had no problem voting. I treat local elections as something entirely different to national elections. Tory councils are generally better run than Labour or Lib Dem.
Nationally I usually vote Tory but have made a protest vote in the past and am very likely to do so at the next election.

'Well on the one hand, whilst Hitler may have started a war killing millions, and genocided hundreds of thousands of civilians, he also built good roads and got the trains running, so who can really say whether he was bad?'

Well....he couldn't be all bad , he liked dogs after all . Though admittedly he did get a bit carried away . If only he'd have taken that pill ten years earlier !
