When I got to the polling station, at about 07:45, I was the only civilian there. No ' greeters' outside, fortunately, and two little old ladies inside doling out the voting slips and a bloke 'supervising'. The ladies checked my ID - older person's bus pass and we had a bit of a chuckle over the fact that my pics always look like someone who should be locked up.

I presented my drivers license to get my voting slips. The woman never even had a cursory glance at me and the licence to see if there was a match. For a while some debit and credit card issuers could have a photo of what was supposed to be the card owner on the back of the card to try to cut down on fraud. It was abandoned as unsuccessful and apparently at least one person put a photo of a gorilla on their card and was never challenged. I'm tempted to apply for one of the government certificates with a photo of my dog wearing one of my hats and see if they notice .

Someone I know reckons it's all a plot to "control us". He also mistrusts the BBC but completely trusts some website that you will never have heard of. And so on. Mic There are plenty of people like that! Remember the coronavirus vaccine that miraculously gave data to the “state” weirdo’s and whackies.

But why didn't they just scan my coronajab microchips as I walked in? It would have been a whole lot easier

He was most put out when, unvaccinated, he tried to enter France with the intention of driving on to Poland and he was refused entry.

Has anyone checked Chaz's ID? Wouldn't want to accidentally put the shiny hat on the wrong (rhymes with splat).

..... but why is the government issuing certificates with a photo of your dog wearing one of your hats? And can we all apply for one?

Last time I saw Chuck take an oath on TV he was promising to be faithful to Diana while Camilla looked on from the cheap seats.

I hope that you keep your head on your neck. Hate to break it to you but the guillotines are not coming for the republicans. My problem with the idea of a republic is that we would have to elect some totally unstable and possibly corrupt politician every few years. Look at the mess some other countries have got themselves into. There would have to be a written constitution, means to get rid of the elected individual, and all the other problems. As it is parliament makes the decisions and the Sovereign is pretty easy a rubber stamp. A president would expect to dictate policy.
