Pretty much everyone uses drugs to some extent, whether class A narcotics, alcohol, caffeine, nicotine, painkillers, whatever. Yep I have a laugh in the Bell's they have these big signs in the ladies and I assume the gents about anyone selling or using drugs will be barred and the police will be called as I point out they are selling a drug and people are using it!

I don’t personally know anyone who uses drugs, You're on here and I think there's more than a few people in here who smoke, drink alcohol, coffee and even indulge in other drugs

Wembley is in the London Borough of Brent. It isn’t the capital. Exactly you might as well say Romford is in London but although it's in the London Borough of Havering it's in Essex ditto Barking, Dagenham, Ilford etc all in London boroughs that aren't in London

I was at Wembley last year for a gig. Actually thought it was pretty good around there. Ate and drank in Boxpark. Good atmosphere.

They have probably totally lost patience listening to their up-their-ass neighbours explaining at great length how virtuous they are and how wrong everyone else is. It used to trigger a very short fuse in me when conversing with (and meeting) my Canadian cousin. A lifetime of that would erase any patience I ever had with irritants.

Indeed. When I had my first heart attack as a matter of course they put me on a beta-blocker, but I came off it as I felt I was being made sluggish (no sticky trail involved) within a couple of days I was running around like a thirty year old. The sertraline I am reducing down gradually but I fear Covid will prevent any other reduction in medication. And then there is the matter of eye dilating drops...probably full of atropine or amphetamine to help torn retina inspection.

Aspirin as a blood thinner, a statin such as atorvastatin, an ACE inhibiter such as ramipril, a beta blocker such as bisoprolol are pretty standard for someone who has had a heart attack, or had cardiac stents fitted. Lansoprazole is used to reduce stomach acid and kate will not be surprised that this is added to the mix in order to counter the risk that regular doses of aspirin pose to the stomach. I developed sensitivity to beta blockers and even the smallest pills of the mildest beta blocker, bisoprolol, sent my rest pulse below 40 bpm so I, with agreement of my doctor, came off them.

I'm only on 2.5mg bisoprolol a day. My resting heart rate is mid 50's. My GP said it shouldn't drop below 50, which it doesn't.

My resting HR is currently (7 day average) 46. Good to have some of my fitness back after a relatively docile winter.

I recall many years ago hearing Alistair Cooke talking about the USA's love of guns on his Letter from America programme. He referred to the Constitution and explained that the original wording was something like 'a right to bear arms as part of an organised militia', which was relevant at the time so soon after gaining independence from the UK. However, in recent years I am not aware of any threat of armed invasion of the USA, and suspect that there are no longer 'organised militias' of the kind referred to in the Constitution. Also, when the Constitution was written, a handgun or rifle would have been a single shot device that needed reloading after each shot, whereas the current weapon of choice for a mass murderer in the USA appears to be a military device that can fire hundreds of bullets per minute and turns a body into mincemeat that has to be identified by comparing its DNA with that of a possible close relative (this example was given by police in a recent school shooting I read about).
