Fish pie, made with the mobile fish van's lovely chunky pie mix (makes great soups and curries too) just in the oven now, to be followed by plum crumble. That's a bit more of a lottery as the plums were completely tasteless raw, hence being cooked.

If the temprature in EL is anything like Edinburgh the last thing Zou will want is cauld, raw veg. Topside has been in the slow cooker since 13:00. Tatties and roots went into the oven 18:30ish. The bit of leftover pie that was my light lunch was great.

Sunday lunch was beef stew and herby dumplings, followed by a microwaved sticky toffee pudding and evap.
Big glass of rioja to chase down the stew, and a small glass of chilled Pedro Ximénez to go with the pudding.

Plums considerably improved by being cooked. It would have been hard to make them worse - they were like cotton wool.

Thanks to this bloody cold lingering I had zero appetite all day until around now when suddenly I'm hungry and it's too late to cook so I suppose you could call what I am having a 12th night buffet, last bit of Xmas cake with Wensleydale, last mince pies* and mini cheddars with smoked paprika and a satsuma or two
* Well need to make space for the hot cross buns that went on sale from last Sunday!!!!

Same as last night as I made too much! Prawn and avocado salad with cardinale dressing with coconut, tomato and onion salad with vinaigrette dressing and curried potato salad. Tonight I added some cauliflower, as I much prefer raw cauli to cooked!

I couldn't decide and ended up too late to defrost anything from the freezer so I'm doing a Fray Bentos S&K pudding with chips and curried baked beans. Yep, Dave slumming it again.

American-style monkfish in white wine and cognac sauce.
Had a delivery of Seville oranges for marmalade today, so had to empty a drawer in the freezer. Found the bit of monkfish, and as luck would have it, I had opened my big Spanish recipe book at random yesterday and found this recipe. Wife is doing a silly soup diet, and had all the ingredients, so was a no-brainer.
And it was very nice, too.
