No fresh fish at the supermarket this morning, so tonight's meal will be fried bacon.

Tonight is all organized! I 've got one and a half litres of duck and mushroom soup in the crock pot, and am baking a brown whole-meal loaf to go with some duck pate. The Christmas duck bones and carcass spent a good twelve hours in the crock pot yesterday, and the meat just fell off - I was amazed at how much otherwise would have gone to waste.
The smells in the kitchen are divine!

The smells in the kitchen are divine! My son made stock with our Christmas duck carcass, and then made French Onion Soup with some of the stock. Very good it was too. Better than the duck curry I made with the leftover duck meat the night before - that was frankly the most boring curry I've made in ages. Got the spicing all wrong. Luckily I had made a nice dhal and a decent paneer curry as well...

Stir fried veg and noodles with the leftovers of last nights Teriyaki sirloins thinly sliced. For a change I added some fine diced Chorizo to the flavourings for the veg. Initially I was underwhelmed but warmed to it as it warmed me.

Last night it was fish fingers and chips.
It will likely be a burger in a bun tonight.

Will do some chicken and pesto pasta for lunch, then dinner will be my wife's traditional new year's eve fare. Soba noodles in some format plus we've got some proper mochi.

We have not had a Middle Eastern dish for a while, so out with the tagine tonight.
Currently preparing a kefta tagine with eggs and roasted cumin which is quite a dry dish and has eggs cooked around it at the end, served with buttered French stick. I am also doing a spicy carrot and chickpea tagine with turmeric and coriander. As I only have one tagine, this dish will be cooked in a casserole pot.

Despite you mentioning in Martin's childish thread about not being the one to let rip, well I think you might after that!

Despite you mentioning in Martin's childish thread about not being the one to let rip, well I think you might after that! I think my consitution is used to this level of 'roughage' now. I'd be in more trouble if I didn't eat this way!

That said, tonight it's fish and chips (with peas of the non-mushy variety)
