Not the best of shots but they are hard to find around here. Goldfinches are beautiful little birds. I think the kingfishers are having a hard time this year, they look almost emaciated compared to the plump little fellas last year SHCF3257-1 by Stephen Hayto, on Flickr SHCF3517-01 by Stephen Hayto, on Flickr

I love the Kingfisher. We usually get loads of Goldfinches but our new neighbor has said she wants to cut down the tree 🌳 in her garden so maybe we won’t get as many birds as in previous years. But with four bird feeders I think we should get some birds even without the tree

Moorhen chick on water lilies. It was intent on going away from me so this was a last attempt at a profile. DSCF0007.jpg by Pete, on Flickr

Most likely a Buzzard. Could be a Hen Harrier but they are less common. BV9R3820.jpg by Pete, on Flickr Buzzards have quite strong underwing markings. The dark tips on the tail feathers in your photo are buzzard features. BV9R0272.jpg by Pete, on Flickr BV9R1269.jpg by Pete, on Flickr

To be honest it was a while ago, and I think the silhouette is actually a different bird! I think I'll stick to robins and blackbirds.

I thought you meant that they were all different pictures of the same bird. If it was a different bird and moving quite quickly the most likely candidate for the silhouette is a wood-pigeon.

No, it was definitely a bird of prey, as it had flown near us and by the time I had the camera out it was plummeting earthwards.
