I never bought a copy as I only read Ivor Matanle's AP article on vintage and classic cameras, in the bookstore...that was 30 years ago, RIP Ivor.

It's a family thing as my late father bought it before WW2 and I keep the subscription going but If I ever cancelled I doubt if I'd buy copies from newsagents.

I stopped my subscription a couple of years ago and decided to use the online version my son has an apple account that covers AP as well but I don’t log into it anymore. I lost interest when they stopped the forum and now I only come on here. My photography has become challenging with my condition so I’m not even using my camera now.

The main reason I am considering stopping my subscription is that our postal delivery service is complete rubbish. My last grumble to Royal Mail got logged as an official complaint and todat I received an email with the outcome being in my favour, i.e. they have agreeed that we're not getting the service we should be getting. The trouble is, there is nothing about any action being taken to ensure that we do get at least one delivery per week. (One per day would be nice....). No mention of any compensation either

Not seen any in the shops for ages .....there again I hardly visit any shops nowadays ! The remaining local newsagent receives one copy. I bought a few during lockdown but don't generally find much in there to justify the price tag, along with the high number of premium priced special editions. Apart from the newsagent Morrisons here don't carry it now, Tesco do after a long absence, that's where I have a quick skip through.

I subscribe and quite like skimming through it. If I didn't subscribe then I probably wouldn't make the effort to do so. It would be a pitty to see it fail after so many years. I subscribe to the BJP (1854) as well and for much the same reasons. I think that the BJP's societal values are more in line with some of our other members but that doesn't bother me.

It was as boring as usual but there is some very good photos but I don’t get the “Overall Winner of IGPOTY Competition 17 – June Sharpe from England, UK – with the photo entitled ‘Birdscape’.” I find it hard to understand even when it is described as abstract

Some news that may be relevant for this thread.
Today, being a 'valued customer', I received a letter from Kelsey Media informing me that my quarterly direct debit was increasing to £35.06, which I calculate as a 37.5% increase on the £25.50 rate I have paid for the last 8 years. Obviously costs have increased since then, as well as a change in publisher, so this is not a great surprise. Presumably the cover price will go up too, since not all the increased costs will be postage.
However, I would be happier with the increase if AP stopped devoting so much space to trying to be 'What Smartphone'.
Also, I am curious why my letter says £35.06 when the AP website says £34.99 for the same product.
