Question for the membership, do you currently subscribe to the magazine or buy a copy on a regular basis , say twice a month?

No, I think the last time I bought it was when my photo was in it. As a magazine it just doesn't offer anything of value to me any more. A shame, but my needs changed.

I don't think I've ever bought a copy. I used to occasionally see one in my doctors waiting room.

Maybe a couple of times a year. Sometimes there's an article I'd like to read or if I'm on holiday and want something to read.
Used to get them every week when I commuted to work by bus but that was over a decade ago now.

I am not sure if I will continue with the subscription or not but this weekās issue, which should be interesting because of the second hand buying advice, doesnāt do anything for me.

I have subscribed for many years. And before that bought it from a local shop. At school in the 40's I read it in the library. And later delivered weekly. In the 70's and 80's I only bought it occasionally. I consider myself a long term reader.
I will continue as long as it remains relevant.

Never subscribed, only bought an occasional one that caught my eye, think probably not one in this century and not many before that.

Not bought AP mag for ages I check it out each time I'm in tescos in case there's an article that takes my interest. So far it's not happened.
AP like a lot of photography mags and websites are getting very repetative with their content

I don't subscribe, but I used to buy occasional issues, and read copies from the local library. Nowadays, the library is 9 months behind, and this is what I see on the subscription page. Attachment Deleted

I've been a subscriber for quite a number of years now. Before that, I started off buying it regularly in the 1970's and used to have a copy reserved at the local newsagent for a few years, then bought it over the counter for a few years then a big pause when the kids were young as I couldn't afford photography as a hobby

Can't remember the last time I bought a copy of AP - it was probably the one where Roger Hicks featured a photo of mine in his column - and by then I had largely stopped buying it as it had gotten a little repetetive...

Iāve subscribed for ages. Used to buy it for ages before that but distribution got patchy and it was often sold out. There are less interesting editions sometimes. This week so so. The thesis that photography need not be expensive while equating photography with owning a camera and one lens is poor. Really need to add the digital darkroom

The thesis that photography need not be expensive while equating photography with owning a camera and one lens is poor. Really need to add the digital darkroom I agree with that, a suitable computer is likely to cost more than the camera and lens. Additionally, the article doesnāt mention the cost of a new battery, memory cards etc. Despite the error, you can get a Nikon D300 and lens for under Ā£200 but a couple of batteries and a couple of decent sized CF cards will add another Ā£100 or so. I always want a second battery with a camera and with a D300 I doubt the original will be in a very good condition. The camera only takes CF cards, it is the D300s that can also use SD cards. A ready to use digital camera and computer, one canāt assume that the reader has a suitable computer, is likely to come out a bit overĀ£1,000. I have looked at laptops with 16GB of memory, mainly because I donāt have any with less, but if Windows can perform with less the total will be a bit less. Still not my idea of cheap.
