I don't think my cooker has lights in either top or main oven...

I meant that the mixing and preparation was done in half the time.
I'm about to check the progress of the actual bake right now. I see that the oven knob is a good (angular) 80 degrees lower than I had it. That doesn't mean 80 deg C of course, although it might!
Mick
If it's anything like my oven think of it this way. 4pm - 80 degC 5pm - 100 degC 6pm - c150 degC 7pm - 160 degC 8pm - 180 degC 9pm - 200 degC Thanks Kate, Ours is similar. Some time ago I measured the temp at defined "o'clocks" and stuck a label on the stove. Now even that has gone.
The second cake was perfect, cooked at about 6pm on your scale!

Just got a one off £10 from the Gvt. Apparently it is a christmas bonus. Wonder how much that costs to administer.

Shouldn't think it takes much to administer. Same every year, so a simple computer prog can just go through the database sending it to all the pensioners.
* I think the last time it was increased, it was actually worth something. But I could be wrong.

It has stayed at £10 since it was introduced in the 1970s.

It has stayed at £10 since it was introduced in the 1970s. According to the Bank of England inflation calculator, that is between £134 (1970) and £48 (1979) in today's money. Still better than a tenner.

Halifax. I had a share dealing account as a convenient place to park my employee shares from my days of employment. Sold the shares this summer. Had some trouble closing account as I could not find my "Personal Identification Number". Eventually googled. The PRN is the account number. Why would they not call it that on their on-line close account form? So that a proportion of people will phone them in desperation and be put through to the sewer rats in Retentions.

At least you got it. I haven't had mine for at least 4 years now - one section says the other should be paying it.
Since the introduction in 1972 inflation has taken it to £115.76. according to BoE.

I don't think I qualify this year I thought all pensioners got it automatically. I was paying a bill on Sunday and thought I'd seen 2 lots of £10 payments into our joint account that day.

I’ve just checked the banking app and we got ours a couple of days ago too. The big decision is what to spend it on!

How did you manage to get such a cheap tariff?
