Energy bills. This period (1 month)last year I used 214 units of gas and 710 units of electricity (meter reading units). Total cost £317 The same period this year I used 157 units of gas and 434 units of electricity, so considerably less on both but £685 bill! Ouch.i just hope when the prices start dropping, the companies actually pass that on straight away.

Hopefully, that is before (rather than after ) the assistance payment?

I'm sure they'll do exactly that. Depending, that is, on your definition of "straight away".
My guess would be..... 200 years.

Before. That is the cost before I am credited the £67. This is why I am happy overpaying each month and am in credit. The way it is, hopefully in march when my year starts I’ll be even. Before it goes up again in April!

Before it goes up again in April! I had an email from OVO the other day informing me of another price rise for electricity from 1st Jan. The rise is about 1p for day units, but nearly 3p for night units. My gas price is not going up though.

Love how much of the increase was loaded onto the standing charges though, so you're never likely to see that drop regardless of what the unit prices are.

Another benefit of privatisation is regular interruptions to the water supply. Currently waiting for the water to return some 36 hours after it went off.
In my seventy years on this planet, I cannot recall an incident of losing water through failure of the system when it was a “public” service. This past 18 months, it’s been off at least six times. This is Southern Water, who will gladly pay £90m in fines for polluting the sea rather than fix the problems it has.
As long as the shareholders get their dividends and the directors get their bonuses, I guess all is well?

At work and on my mobile so not about to search for the gif but there's a scene in Mad Max Fury Road (? Think that's the name of the film, it's the recentest one) where the head baddie says something about not wanting to get addicted to water. That seems relevant.

Amazon music. I have Amazon Prime and therefore have Amazon Music but not unlimited. Amazon appear to have imposed a mandatory un-crippleable shuffle feature on non unlimited customers. The only rational for this must be to make non unlimited so crap that regular music customers upgrade. Unfortunately we buy so much from Amazon it is not worth cancelling the prime subscription (otherwise I would) but I do not believe in submitting to intimidation so do not see myself upgrading to unlimited any time soon - in fact if I do take out a music streaming subscription it is likely to Be AbA - Anyone but Amazon.

The government have finally realised that people who live off grid deserve the same assistance with fuel bills as mains gas users. WGMG? The fact we won't see a penny until February.

The Space Karen was gleeful about removing the "unnecessary" code which told you which device a tweet was posted from. But now that's gone, there is a new tweet view counter, which must surely take up more resources than the one-liner he claimed was so wasteful.

Well that was interesting, I haven’t a clue what you are talking about.
