I think they bought the Calumet UK operation, if so they are coming back! ^^^^ Yes, it was a very long story of acquisitions and mergers going back well before digital.
It may actually help LCE they do have an overlapping market place but could increase visits to their store, ironically more so if the two shops close together.

Looks like being the nicest day of the year so far, weather wise. And I'm off work! Bit warm for my liking although I've got the afternoon off too. Got the mental bulldog to walk next but she thinks she's a labrador so will be swimming in the river fetching sticks and soaking wet for the short walk back up the hill.

LCE (in store) have always price matched Wex (online), for me at least.

Looks like being the nicest day of the year so far, weather wise. And I'm off work! Not so nice down Sarf today, bright but windy. Yesterday was shorts and Tshirt weather, which was good because we walked the second half of the Wandle way, 23K steps from Morden to the Thames at Wandsworth.

Allegedly only 16° at the moment but it certainly feels more. Barely a cloud to be seen, no wind to speak of, and very very pleasant sitting in the sun. Just came inside to lower my chances of turning too pink, will head out again to the lounger later once the sun has moved around a bit. Edit to add it could get up to about 20°.

I think they bought the Calumet UK operation, if so they are coming back! Yes they did, but after the Nottingham branch of Calumet had closed. The old branch was not well situated. The new site is in an area that is being improved.

Interesting to hear Emeli Sande talking on the radio today. Same accent as I have. Turns out she grew up a skip and a jump from where I was born.

There seems to be loads of used bicycle bargains out there just now as flip side of crazy demand during covid.
A wee pal was looking for a bike and was spoiled for choice. The one he got was £750 new during lockdown and clearly wasn't used much for a little over £300. Half price and the brakes weren't even bedded in.

About 30 mins out from docking in Harwich. Just for willien, 4 games played, 4 won, 9 wickets and 2 catches for yrs truly, first club player to 50 tour wickets. Much beer rented. Bloody good tour. After 4 days on a high malt, high hop, low food diet, I'm quite glad the 3 hour journey back to Oxford will be broken with a tea and a pee at mums.

Living that old Paul Simon song - "50 Ways To Lose Your Liver"?
