Since resuming home development of black and white film I've done a roll each of 35mm and 120. Just loaded my second roll of 35mm and it was a first time success getting it onto the Paterson reel. Well done. I can only presume that you dried the reel very carefully indeed before loading the second film. I used to use my mum's hair drier to dry the reel. That takes me back at least sixty years.
Weeks between usage, no need for a hairdryer! Not that I have one anyway.

Is it just me or is the hawthorn blossom this year going crazy? Don't recall ever seeing so much at once. Did you manage to dodge the clouds of St Mark's Fly? I don't think I've seen them so active or as numerous before. There's been times when the dogs and I have been covered in them when walking through a sunny spot in the woods. Seems like an unusual number of adult spiders with egg sacks for this early in the summer too. Wolf spiders seem to be enjoying themselves in particular. Had a veritable covering of flies on my ride home from work the other day, but usually the wind stops them from settling on me.

They stick like velcro. Think they are mostly done for this year but that just means the more unpleasant ones are coming.

The bibio flies were thin on the ground down here this year. Too dry? We've had some drizzly nights and foggy mornings before scorchio afternoons. Are you seeing many harvestmen down there? Apparently Megabunus diadema is disappearing from places down south as they get drier.

Apparently Megabunus diadema is disappearing from places down south as they get drier. Too dry? ... Until a week ago we still had patches of standing water in the meadows here. I'm still seeing harvestmen, but they're definitely smaller than previous years. Another thing we're seeing due to the very wet spring is the butterflies seem to be later than previous years. Due to the longer pupation stage some are larger than normal and there are greater numbers of aberrations.

Going into the final day of the Premier League without being involved in a nail biting relegation battle.
But I would *Love* to hand Man U a tonking, with "Mitro" getting a hat trick. "And vengeance is mine sayeth Mitrovic".

Looks like being the nicest day of the year so far, weather wise. And I'm off work!
