... and we had freeports for years, but they were being phased out because they didn't work... Good tax dodge for some and for others jobs none of us would would seek out? Not much of a substitute for unhindered trade for anyone with a good idea. |

Looking for the power cable for a SatNav earlier I found a pair of almost unworn Timberland shoes and a pair of rather good Italian ones that just need new soles and heels. I still haven’t found the power cable, which is annoying because it has a traffic receiver and without it the friend who is borrowing the SatNav will have to forego that function. At least I was able to load the latest USA and Canada maps.
The Timberlands are very comfortable, no idea how they came to be hidden under my desk.

So glad I never got into Martin Amis' books. Sounds as if he kept rarified upper class debating assole company and wrote from his ivory tower.

This was one of my entries.  t.i.c. homage to stephen shore's sutherland county series - here is a Lewis island view! by Kate Ferris, on Flickr PS I could just live with Eggleston's work but not on my walls. |
