My peas (Hurst Greenshaft) have pods. I was late sowing them so now hoping they ripen quickly.

As far as I am concerned most of the politicians in parliament are about as beige and uninspiring as watching (magnolia) paint dry. I don’t see any of them upending the things that aren’t working, they’ll keep tinkering in the hope that they don’t upset anyone and get re-elected in five years time. Assuming the party, any of them, holds together that long. I’ve said this before, and I have no doubt that I'll say it again. Long ago, in another place, a member posted an extremely interesting account of the drying of paint. IIRC it also contained a little humour. I wish that I had easy access to it to prove to you that you are overestimating the interest generated by many MP's.
Mick
Possibly @el Sid that posted about the paint?

Not particularly a reason to be cheerful but not starting another thread. A picture came up on FB yesterday of Simone Biles standing next to another black athlete - Shaq, a retired baseball player. The height difference was so great I googled her. Turns out (unless my calculator tapping is wrong) Ms. Biles is a fraction over 4'7". In my eyes that makes her being such a world champion athlete even more amazing.

I saw that too. I'm not convinced that there's not some photographic trickery going on, but he is muuuuuuuuuch taller then she is!

Which is your preferred hue, for watching dry, Geoff?

Which is your preferred hue, for watching dry, Geoff? Any of those metallic paints where they change from an apparently flat colour to a glittering one. Obviously a politician with that skin tone would be very suspicious.

Biles is not unusual amongst gymnasts and is the same height as Britain's Claudia Fragapane, with the Gadirova twins just a smidgen taller.

I'm still working. Been a long day. Ooh. Getting paid for it! Why not. Many people have bought dogs which either they can't be bothered to exercise or for various reasons cannot exercise. Is it not to be welcomed that they realise that their pets need to be taken out for exercise, meet other dogs and be socialised? Dog walking by people who like dogs is to be welcomed. It's fair that they are rewarded.

Bert [Jansch] Transcribed 2 is now available on Amazon. Vol. 2 of Transcriptions of the music and songs of Bert Jansch. If you know any acoustic guitarists please let them know. Just checked Amazon idly while sitting with an ice gel pack wrapped round my ****** knuckle after happilly wrestling with Chambertin and Alice's Restaurant on volume 1. While I lost I could not in all honestly declare that the music won. Possibly I should re-define my music ego as mandolin player - I am actually getting better at that. It is nice not to be an old dog.
