Or the tiniest spark... Damned auto correct...the longest MARCH.... (ends before April...obviously) Given that you are already misquoting it’s not surprising. The original was, I believe, “The longest journey starts with a single step”.

It looks like you corrected a misquote with a misquote. OK, that's fine, but what should it have been? "A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step" Worse still, I should have known that.

Just been told my most annoying habit is putting beer in (one of) the Fridge(s). Am I a friggin' catch or what? .
To be fair being a crabby smart arse has been mentioned on other occassions.

I think that the Conservative and Unionist Party are coming round to the idea that they have to face reality. Neither Patel or Truss have a hope in .... of leading the party. (I know that ellipsis only has three dots; the missing word has four).

(I know that ellipsis only has three dots; the missing word has four). As far as I am concerned most of the politicians in parliament are about as beige and uninspiring as watching (magnolia) paint dry. I don’t see any of them upending the things that aren’t working, they’ll keep tinkering in the hope that they don’t upset anyone and get re-elected in five years time. Assuming the party, any of them, holds together that long.

Long ago, in another place, a member posted an extremely interesting account of the drying of paint. IIRC it also contained a little humour. I wish that I had easy access to it to prove to you that you are overestimating the interest generated by many MP's.
