One of the first things I did when I moved in properly was to install an ethernet network as I have a lot of thick stone walls. It did mean drilling holes in said stone walls, fortunately I had a 1500W SDS drill.

Yep. The router is in the main bedroom where the telephone comes in. I put a BT extender in the second bedroom which is above the kitchen so I can get WiFi without drilling yet more holes. Plus, if I have an imaging rig outside my front I can connect via WiFi to my tablet.

I use mains adapters for tv, pvr etc but had to get a Wifi booster for Maggy's lap top. I know you can get ethernet to USB adaptors but in her case it seemed simpler...
