My late mother used to take a bus to Sainsbury and get a car from a reliable car firm back home with the shopping.The journey there was free on the bus pass. The journey back was with lady driver who helped her with the shopping. When I visited and we went to visit friends and relatives I chartered the same company so that I could enjoy a drink or two with dinner. I think that they charged me rather more for their services. Fare enough, I could afford it.

Aye, we get enough business to keep the lights on without the grants but there are also lots of people for whom the cost of a bike repair is prohibitive and a source of anxiety. It's nice being able to tell people not to worry about it. |
