Three films currently hanging up over the bath. All from pre-WW2 cameras. Aside from the format, which is a bit of a giveaway, the negs from the Rolleiflex just look *amazing* compared to the others. Off to buy bits for Caffenol tomorrow. Reasons to be less cheerful. Despite rinsing in distilled water, then in distilled wayer with rinse aid, I have the worse drying marks I've ever had. I think I will buy a squeegee. There's a print one in the attic, I think, but it's on the large side.

I don't use distilled water for making up chemicals or final wash, just a drop of Kodak Photo Flo in the final rinse using a Patterson System 4 tank. Too much and you will get drying marks from the wetting agent.

I literally used a single drop, in a second rinse with distilled, so I'd love to know where the buggers have come from, they look like I've rinsed with polyfilla.

Took the fast ebike to the job in Rosewell this morning... strava says I did it in 13 minutes and 36 seconds and Google maps says 14 minutes by car so I'm calling that a win for the bicycle.

I think a rewash is in order.

Nicholas Hudson (age 21 and 3/4) had a party last night which ended at 4:30 AM when a guest fell into our pond, this morning the kitchen is a mess of pond water and mud.
RTBC - No one was seriously hurt and my son clearly knows how to throw a good party.

My sister in law just rescued a kitten. Sounds fairly normal but they were driving along and the wee thing was just sitting in the middle of a busy road, so they stopped and picked it up as other traffic went by. She sent the dash cam video and it's a lot more heroic than it sounds!

We always just used our fingers clasping the film and a swipe down. Any with marks, subsequently, got the swipe on the side of the nose and then down the negatives. I wonder if it has a lot to do with the water quality in the area?

I started processing films at home in East Yorkshire with pretty hard water and it is no better in London, yes water hardness makes a difference but it is not the end of the world. FWIW I have only ever used my fingers, the only scratch marks I have had were when re using 35mm spools to load from bulk lengths of film, even then I suspected it was the bulk loader rather than the felt light trap.

Most likely feral, or a domestic cat had its litter out of the home and the kitten was separated somehow. The location isn't somewhere you'd choose to stop and dump a kitten, there would be far more appropriate places within a couple of minutes.
