It was the map on mine that went first That would be annoying. I like BMW's sat nav presentation with Lane info where the rev counter normally shows.

Both ankle zips on my leathers went west a couple of weeks back.
Tried to find somewhere to fix them, didn't seem to be anywhere in N Wales, nearest I could find was in Stoke - and £40 per zip plus postage. So at about £1oo and oldish leathers, I decided to get some Hood denim jeans, lined with kevlar anti-abrasion and with knee and hip armour. Bit pricey, but stop your skin [and muscle] getting scraped off and look reasonably smart enough to avoid adverse comment in the smarter pubs. Arrived and fitted perfectly.
Then on Friday a camera club mate told me about a place in Upper Bangor which mended his. Never thought of it because it looks like a dress shop or something from the outside. £30 per zip, no postage and ready this coming Monday.
So now a lout's pair and a smart pair.

A week or so back for compliance reasons I had to post my birth certificate and a tax code letter to my umbrella company so they could have a video chat with me to confirm it was me compared to the photo I already sent them. Yes I wondered why given neither have my photo on and if my birth certificate did I wouldn't look like that now given it would have been taken when I was 6 days old
Anyway deed duly done they promised they would send them back registered etc but a week or more later no sing of them so I chased it up especially as that job fell through and I need my birth certificate for the next round of compliance
Turned out someone signed for it at 82B so I tried a couple of times but no one was in. Then tonight as I was walking back from the Half Moon the flat was lit up even though it was getting on a bit I rang the doorbell and this very nice gentleman gave me the envelope with them in
I could moan that the bloody umbrella company actually sent it to 82B but as it would have cost me over £30 to get a new copy of my birth certificate express delivery to me I am just happy to have got it back

Which is which? Serious question. The Hood jeans are the smart pair. The leathers are... shall we say "a trifle disreputable".

Had one of those random thoughts, in this case prompted by the word assocciation game, sort of what would I associate with certain words; example - what would I associate with "Vindaloo", first thought was "ring stinger", which led to "in da loo"

Boris Johnston has been turned away from a polling station... because he had no photo I.D.
Edit - Given he returned later with I.D why do I think this was BJ publicity stunt - cunning or otherwise?

Tories got a bloody nose, always reason to be cheerful. Don't be daft! A tory minister said this morning it "just looks bad because we did so well last time".

Some electors realise that running a council is different to running a country. There will be electors who have voted Tory in well run Tory councils who intend to vote differently in the GE. The GE will be far, far worse for the Tories than these council elections.

At the time of typing, Independents have almost as many gains as Labour and almost twice as many as the LibDems.
