Just taken the gas and electricity meter readings. A good bit less than this time last year - although probably about 3 times as expensive. My use this past month is less than the same period last year but my bill for this month for gas and electric was £650. Last year for the exact same period, it was £215! How does the supplier's profits compare last year to this year?

SSE put my direct debit up to £270 and way over estimated usage, my estimate showed that I would have been well over £2000 in credit over the year, wonder who would get the interest on that? I cut the DD to £150 and I'm still in credit due to their previous overestimations

So my estimate of three times as much is pretty accurate. Not much consolation though.

Doesn't seem to be any live feed or results page that I could see but hopefully a local lass will do well at the World Indoor Archery Championship which is happening in Kent this week... www.wiac2021.co.uk/Looks like she won... Attachment Deleted

Will done her! I did one trying to work out what round they were shooting, but then remembered that some are metric scores (1,2,3 - 10) and some imperial (1,3,7,5,9)...

The way she describes the competitions is that there are qualification rounds to get to a final which comes down to last man (or woman) standing. Will try to improve my understanding when I meet her next.

It struck me today that at last I know someone who feels totally comfortable with my company. Don't really know how to explain it, but I've spent my life knowing neighbours who I felt regarded me warily because I am a quiet person and not one for wild socialising. At last I know someone who feels comfortable just walking into my house, us both trying to find the leak in my window - and kneeling down investigating why my bedroom door didn't close properly. We had such a laugh finding out the border carpet strip wasn't screwed down sufficiently (it wouldn't, so one for her son when he is home) but finding the door closes without the screw sticking up! I know, it's little things, but when you haven't had such a comfortable relationship with another female who joshes you and bullies you into things, it is such a pleasant surprise at my age.

I suffer from paroxysmal afib so it is not constant and only happens every so often and controlled by meds. Last night at 2145 my heart went into Afib and still was when I got up which is very unusual. Using my GP online request form at 0800 I had an appointment at 1000 with a young lady GP who I’ve not seen before. She was really good, my consultation was around 25 mins, where the standard is 10 mins. Whilst there she spoke to the admissions at the SDEC (Same Day Emergency Care) as I was still in Afib. Arrived at the hospital and within 15 mins of getting booked in, I had an ECG, BP and bloods taken. Admittedly I’ll probably have an hour or 2 wait for the results and a doctor consultation, however considering the slagging off the NHS get, and probs right at dome times, but so far I’ve been really impressed.
I’m also quite happy that my AF was still present so at least they can see what is happening.
