They told me it is taken very seriously. Disciplinary action such as mandatory retraining or suspension. If a driver has 3 strikes they are fired. Once had a Lothian's bus driver with passengers swerve his bus towards me coming the other way on the Dolphinton moor. I had objected to having to brake sharply as he chose to overtake a car while ignoring on coming traffic namely me on a Honda 125. These days the onboard cameras make it hard for a driver to justify doing anything stupid, they are much less likely to get away with it. |

Not heard a firework tonight. Hearing aid battery OK? Actually there weren’t many around here but those we heard were rather later than I would have expected. |

Here it was mostly done by 7 and seemed to be entirely residential folk in their gardens. No big display, austerity perhaps.

One firework display just up the road, just a family do with a few rockets. It was over by the time I thought of grabbing my phone and getting a video.

The local whingers and a couple of threatened prosecutions have seen to it that we have no organised displays locally anymore. Not strictly true, the next village has a small one with severely limited tickets and there's another about 5 miles away next weekend. The army camp, and Longleat used to put on great displays but they now consider it not worth the hassle.
