Just randomly bumped into an old work colleague roaming the streets of Oxford disguised as a normal person. Busy sorting out a proper meet-up with another contemporary. Nice to be out on a Friday night!

We've been pleasantly surprised at how many of the temples/shrines we've been visiting here in Kyoto we've had almost, or totally, to ourselves. Fushimi Inari (known for its paths lined with a thousand torii gates) was busy, mostly with Chinese tourists, but nowhere near the levels I've seen on videos. Yesterday and today we've visited world heritage sites and have been marvelling at how few step off the "top 10" type lists and also questioning how those lists are curated. We walked up Fushimi Inari in the summer and my god was it a hot and sweaty slog as can be seen by my T shirt. Urghh IIRC we went quite early in the morning leaving the girls in bed! sweaty in Japan by Nigel G, on Flickr Yikes. It's been rather nice weather mostly whilst we've been here, single figures but dry so comfortable in a jacket.

A smash 'n' grab win against the run of play 🙂, but not arguing with the three points 😂

A smash 'n' grab win against the run of play 🙂, but not arguing with the three points 😂 Some interesting results today. Given the managerial merry go round at the bottom of the league I wouldn't write anyone off yet, especially as Leeds have been linked with Harry Redknapp

Finally got started on laying my wee bit of hedge today. Mind you, after banging the posts in with a 14lb sledgehammer, I'm knackered!

I could have lent you my 'man-killer'. My brother made it for me from a 3ft length of 8" diameter 1/4" thick steel tube with a 5" deep lump of steel welded on top. Two handles on the side and lustrous coat of deep red Hammerite. Two thumps and the post is in.

Just seen Saint's goal from today. They should make a film about girl's football and call it 'Bend it Like Prowsey'.

That's not a nice thing to say, especially as I bet you've never met Martin's brother! Now you mention it, I should probably have hired a post-rammer. Bugger! Bit late now...

Can only just lift it these days.

Just taken the gas and electricity meter readings. A good bit less than this time last year - although probably about 3 times as expensive.

My use this past month is less than the same period last year but my bill for this month for gas and electric was £650. Last year for the exact same period, it was £215!
