Doesn't seem to be any live feed or results page that I could see but hopefully a local lass will do well at the World Indoor Archery Championship which is happening in Kent this week... www.wiac2021.co.uk/

I'm not ill today! Yay! (I think, since having covid last year, I've been ill more often and more severely than I ever have before. Really hoping for a spell of wellness now!)

Apropos Rugby and I guess this should really be in WGMG.
I object to the modern habit of putting the ball into the second row of the scrum and I also object to line out throw ins going up the line of a team instead of up the middle.

Mick At school we would be brutally admonished if we transgressed in such a manner At school I was taught rugby by a guy called Watcyn Thomas (who had been captain of Wales and was a forward). He was great on coaching our forwards and, as you say, would have admonished us severely for such transgressions. However his sole contribution to back play was, "get it out to the wing". As I played in the centre or on the wing I saw lots of the ball but never learned any of the niceties of back play.

Mick The first is all part of the desire to speed up the game to make it more attractive. I also disagree with it. Some part of the ball still has to pass through the centre line, but I want the scrum to be a proper contest, or else I would prefer Rugby League. Seems ridiculous that there's a requirement to hook, but no requirement to need the ball to be hooked. Straight throws - for proper lineouts, not quick throws, which have to be straight or backwards - is absolutely still the rule, and refs are reasonably good at picking up on it. Most of the time, anyway. Particularly when there is a contest in the air - if not, then many refs don't consider it fails the materiality test, so don't blow up unless it's egregious.

Anglian Water have just moved me onto a cheapy tariff, where I'll get 50% discount on the water bill. Just filled in an online form to show them I was skintypoos.
On another note, my new motability car has arrived at the dealer, and is just awaiting the fixing of adaptions and the usual registration etc.
...and fret rubbers get scuff marks off car paint really well!
