Once it arrives I'll ask how long before I pester him! I have heard he can be a bit slow, and he is semi-retired now, so it could be a while. I expect I'll survive, got one or two others I can try in the meantime...

I started using Newton Ellis in Liverpool for that reason. [Not just Ed, he does a good job but not rapidly]
They made a cracking job of re-silvering the iiif rangefinder mirror and CLA-ing it, but refused to replace one of the blinds as it was in good order. "Don't waste your money."
And it was a rapid [for the job] turnaround.

I have just picked up my new specs from Costco with the Zeiss Drivesafe lenses. Very nice lenses and despite a slight change in prescription to my last ones, I have adjusted very quickly. Very happy with them. |

I had promised my Photography & Wellbeing Group a trip to a local cafe this weekend, and because many of them were quite anxious about photographing inside a cafe if we didn't have permission I promised to get permission from someone before we arrived. I've had two weeks to do this so of course I didn't even set foot in a cafe until half an hour before we were due to meet. Shout out to the lovely staff at Helensburgh's Humbles Cafe who not only said that was fine, reserved us a table even though I could only promise that we'd buy a coffee each but also never even flinched when four more people than I'd anticipated turned up. Nice coffee and in the end some of us did have toasties for lunch as well. All in all - very cheerful!

The amount of Pacific island mercenaries who are now returning to Fiji and Samoa having had long careers in the national sides of Europe and Australasia is unbelievable. Expect Lorenzo Bruno Nero Dallaglio pitching up in an Italian jersey soon. |
