That's good, but why did he accept in the first place?
Before anyone points it out, I know that BJ was worse, but that's really not the point.
On QT the other night a Labour MP, who had accepted loads of trips, defended herself by saying that the trips were part of the job. If that's true, then the cost is a legitimate business expense and therefore a 'donation' of the trip isn't needed.
I thought that KS promised to sort out this corruption.

Was BJ worse though? I saw a clip from Sky News that had a top ten ranking of declared gifts and KS was number 1 for the period (last 5 years). Taxes on big tech companies were in their manifesto but were removed within a fortnight of Google gifting some hospitality, Glastonbury I think. There's no reason to simply assume he'll be better than Boris at literally anything. Cut from the same (gifted) cloth.

TBF though, it must be really shit to have to buy your own clothes. If he's struggling, there's also Primark and TK Max he could visit.

Found the clip and you are correct, only lists current MPs, albeit covering the last parliament. £35k of free football tickets!

When I has jobs in places where a suit was expected, I had to buy it myself, just like all the other clothes I only wore to work. Why should the Prime Minister be different - it's not as if expensive suits are essential work wear (like a policeman's uniform, for example). If he can't afford the expensive suits from his own earnings, settle for something cheaper and get on with the job.
During a recent stay in a large NHS hospital, I discovered that some recently qualified doctors chose to wear 'scrubs' all the time, which were similar to some of the nurses' uniforms. Apparently these are relatively cheap, hard wearing, easy to wash and dry, come in a variety of 'dull' colours, and have lots of pockets. I recommend them to that nice Mr. Starmer.

Do we want our head of government to showcase the best of the country’s products or do we expect them to look like an average wage earner? Would we prefer everyone who sees our representatives to think M&S or Savile Row?
The Prime Minister represents us on the international stage, I want the world to look our representative and think “that’s what I aspire to” not “is that the best you can do?”. However, having to accept donations to achieve a look that others can aspire to isn’t the way to go about it. I wish I knew what would achieve the desired effect economically but I don’t, what ever it is needs to be properly and openly financed and taxed/rebated appropriately.

Hands up if you can accurately judge the quality and cost of a suit from seeing it for 30 seconds on a news report.
