Cliffs. I met up with Steve (Bazarchie as was) for a day at Bempton Cliffs in May 2019. It was a good day out. BV9R4266.jpg by Pete, on Flickr Edit: it looks like I posted an edit of this in September 2021. A tricky business landing if speed is the way you stay airborne. BV9R4266.jpg by Pete, on Flickr Edit2. I didn't take many environmental pictures to give the scale of the place but I just found this one. 500 mm lens on APS-H so effective field of view @35 mm is 650 mm. BV9R4378.jpg by Pete, on Flickr

Down river from Cadover Bridge, Dartmoor. More an outcrop than a cliff per se. BV9R0551.jpg by Pete, on Flickr when we were a bit closer BV9R0558.jpg by Pete, on Flickr

Artificial cliffs. The rock faces at the old quarries at Llanymynech are used [permission required] for climbing. There were two limestone quarries orginally, one English and one Welsh. Now a nature reserve and heritage trail. It is quite an interesting place to visit but parking is very limited. Looking at the paths I'd guess the local kids have a great time mountain biking over the rubble mounds. There are fossils to be found in the spoil. Peregrines nest there but I have never seen one. The path to the section where they nest is rather half-heartedly blocked off - I think because it leads to a dead end rather than any particular conservation intent. Lots of pigeons and Jackdaws. The Offa's Dyke Path goes around the edge of it. DSCF0383.jpg by Pete, on Flickr

I'd the closest place to me that I know of where you can see the cliffs from the land is South Stack but it is still nearly a 2 hour drive (outside holiday season). I haven't any big vista views. BV9R2323.jpg by Pete, on Flickr The Great Orme is closer (45 mins) but I've never tried to get in a position to photograph the cliffs per se. I suspect it needs a boat. There is a toll road around the base but no parking and I've only driven it, which gives little opportunity for sight-seeing.

I thought I'd look and see if I had any Great Orme photos. This one from across Llandudno Bay. It has a hazy day so some LR dehaze filter applied. DSCF7203.jpg by Pete, on Flickr
