Not quite wild. Managed deer at Attingham Park last October. We learned from a more regular visitor that they had had tuberculosis in the herd and the footpaths through the deer park had just reopened. There were very few deer to be seen, and no mature males evident, so presumably there had been a big cull of adults in an attempt to stamp it out. DSCF5998.jpg by Pete, on Flickr

Managed "wild" - part of the red deer herd at Powis. I think they usually stay well out of sight during "open hours" at Powis Castle because we go there a few times each year and this visit (July 2018) was the first time I had seen them in numbers. BV9R2566.jpg by Pete, on Flickr

I thought I'd see what Flickr threw up for calm and I was quite surprised. On this ancient (2011) picture I had commented on the calm state of the guy on the extreme left of the photo who seems to be standing serene and relaxed as the whole team piles into a gate at some speed. Using Flickr downsize rather than reprocess the image. Erddig July 2011 3 by Pete, on Flickr

I was expecting Flickr to come up with some pictures from the Marine Lake. If there is no or little wind this is almost ripple free. I just picked one - not sure if it has been posted before or not. I find it peaceful there even if not 'quiet' in the sense of being free from people. This must have been taken from close to the café where we eat when we go there. BV9R0763.jpg by Pete, on Flickr

Thank you. It was back when I did quite a bit of work for Euro Star and would often catch the first train from St. Pancras usually I would snooze off in my seat and would when waking up identify which side to the channel we were by the shape of the pylons I could see out of the window.
