Another theme I don't really "do" because it is difficult to exclude people. Found a stood-well-out-of-the-way shot of the Christmas market last December. Looking at the neighbouring photos I think the daily theme must have been Chimneys or similar, maybe roofs because I've got four frames that more or less show the roofs of the sheds erected for the Fair. It is an outdoor market of sorts I suppose. South Bank books - from 2013 - that was the last time we did any tourist stuff in London, been down a couple of times since then visiting but not real walkabout. IMG_0054.jpg by Pete, on Flickr IMG_0056.jpg by Pete, on Flickr

Lanzarote IMG_0344Edit2022 by Keith Hudson, on Flickr Cigar maker in a Lanzarote outdoor market, just like pipe smoke, I love the smell of cigars but I can't smoke either of them. I put them in the same group as classic Jaguar cars, bringing back memories of happy times growing up in the 1970's, though I could quite easily run a classic Jag I have no desire to do so.

High Living. Not much in the way of tower blocks around here but I found an old (2010) photo taken [presumably] from a hotel room when travelling on business. At 100% view the top of the building bears the legend 'Nicolaides Seaview City' and there is a for sale or rent sign on one apartment, and they all look pretty grand in size at least. So I'd say this is high living with a view of the sea. Keyword is Larnaca which I think is Cyprus (can't be bothered to look it up). One detail, all of the blocks of flats have multiple large cylinders on the roof. They don't look like pressure vessels (propane) so presumably they are water tanks, maybe one per apartment or shared between a couple of apartments. Must be dry there, I can't remember going at all. Would have been a meeting. IMG_0010-Enhanced-NR.jpg by Pete, on Flickr

High-ish short stay. Roof top view of St Stephens in Stefansplatz, Vienna. I think, looking at Google Maps, that this must have been taken from the Hilton. For working visits we used more often to stay in a small hotel (Hotel Wandl) off Petersplatz which is marked by the copper clad dome of the Catholic Cathedral which appears beyond St Stephens in this photo. There were lots of us from institutions from all over Europe and we used to take over the Wandl. It must have been full this time. Meetings were held in Laxenburg at the Schloss which must have been a place of high [very wealthy] living back in the day. IMG_0018.jpg by Pete, on Flickr
