Not a word as such but a combination of words that leapt out at me as I flicked through The Times online just now. A "new version" was offered within a few minutes but they'd not corrected it. Another rather tiresome article on BBC pundits posting personal views on social media but the gaffe committed this time was reported as involving images of "International leaders" adulterated by the addition of toothpaste (sic) moustaches. In the absence of an example to confirm this was indeed the case I conclude that sub-editing isn't what it was. Even so, I can't help wondering what AI generative fill could do, and whether the alleged toothpaste was "as is" out of the tube (Signal if it is still made might be good) or mashed up residue?

They'll be saying Hitler had a paintbrush moustache next... Good old AI not just there for the smart things in life...

My word of the day has to be - thimblerigger.
In these days of forked tongues etc it seems to fit the times.

Heard last week on Vernon Kay radio show...which led to Ginfluencer, first lady to order cocktails Kinfluencer, family organiser Sinfluencer, one who leads others astray Winfluencer, England manager...stretches it a bit Finfluencer, who chooses the fish dishes

Winfluencer, England manager...stretches it a bit Stretching things more than a lot, I think, but then I never follow it. There is a huge amount of wishful thinking seen every time these competitions come along.

I kid you not. Look away now if you are still doing The Times crossword: tergiversator and the answer to another clue is the name of the language spoken in Ethiopia - which I seen to have forgotten already.
