Sunsets, bloomin sunset really make me cringe. I'm not a fan of sunsets either but I remembered that I had found this (from 2010) the other day and reprocessed it for posting on the forum but I can't remember if I did or not. Powershot G10 - October 2010 - processed in Lightroom again, probably February 20th which was day it was put on Flickr. Lightroom doesn't seem to match a date with the last edit, unless it is saved as a snapshot. IMG_0081-Enhanced-NR.jpg by Pete, on Flickr

Are we doing blurry water... ...or backlit leaves yet?

Are we doing blurry water... ...or backlit leaves yet? I think blurry water is. It is so overused as an application of long exposure as to have lost all meaning. Back-lit leaves still have some potential for originality so perhaps less so. I'm beginning to think lone tree isn't a cliché after all.

Back-lit leaves still have some potential for originality so perhaps less so. I'm beginning to think lone tree isn't a cliché after all. I think there are 2 kinds of lone trees....those that are alone because of humans and those that won the natural selection lottery. I dislike the former and rather like the latter. Perhaps it is why I have never photographed wee islands with trees in the middle of lochs surrounded by barren hillsides. I just look and wonder what it should look like. Maybe I should take those pictures and see if I can learn how to approach them to show what I see.
