"Apologies for the delayed response,busy as ever! Your camera has been stripped and partially cleaned but the shutter has significant corrosion possibly caused by water ingress.....That would explain why the shutter is solid,I am confident that it should be possible to get it back in to working order although several components will require replacing."
Mind you, he is off on holiday before he goes any deeper, so it might be a while yet.

So do I! Somewhere I had something labelled "Leica", thought that would be the closest I ever got to owning a Leica...
I have a Contax take-up spool (in a Voigtlander Vito II), thought that would be the closest I ever got to owning a Contax...
I have a Rolleiflex filter pouch for a strap, thought.... I'm beginning to see a theme!

If I have it back in time for the Old Lawnmower Club rally, I will take it along and compare notes with the chap who always brings a Voigtlander Prominent along. Might take Roly, too, if I've had a chance to see how the first roll went.

IT'S HOME!!!!
I'll try to do some glamour shots tomorrow as I'm not long back from the wilds of East Anglia, and got stuff to sort out.
Ed has, amongst other things, cleaned the lens and iris, and resuscitated an entirely solid shutter mech. It looks very good indeed. There is some loss of nickel plate on the back where he has removed the nasty verdigris but other than that it looks very good indeed. I did tell him I was after a user rather then a looker, so that bothers me
not at all.
Next task... get time to read the manual, try the shutter, and load up the Fomapan!
