It was not the easiest of themes, and I tossed it like a hot potato at you before whizzing off on hols. However, it has been great seeing how you have interpreted the theme and there are some crackers that didn't quite make it onto the shortlist/honourable mentions. Kath's bulbs set the early standard, and then for much of the month I thought Pete's 1/4 web was the nailed on winner. But then I really liked Nige's broken frame, the kind of image I would not pass by without shooting. Dan's broken boat grew on me, the way the texture of the land and boat blended. And as always Kate made it difficult as I think it is fair to say, she is the queen of texture photos in this Snappers' Social Club. I like the quietness of by the bridge and despite being mono, it felt like there was real (emotional) colour there. But in at the last, Alice loves Dave. Layers, textures, room for imagination. Definitely a case of the final image being more than the sum of its parts. In different light, from a different angle, we'd all walk past it, but Kate saw the potential, the diamond in the rough, and captured this month's winner. Over to you Kate.

I'm so pleased you chose this one of Kate's. She had some crackers but this one really had me gazing at it and thinking how much longer I could happily soak it up for. Nice one Kate. And thanks for the 'honorable mention' Zou.

Well done Kate, good choice Zou. Thank you for the mention. Good subject although I still don't understand what a wabi sabi photograph should be!
