Can't remember if we did this one some years ago but if we did, sorry! For the February comp I want to see your take on wabi sabi ( click here if unfamiliar en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wabi-sabi ). Imperfectly perfect, beauty in roughness, etc. etc. Let's have it.

Imperfectly perfect, beauty in roughness, etc. etc. Let's have it. Fairly sure that we didn't. I had to use the wiki link and I'm not a lot wiser so I'll eagerly await some examples. I should have some Japanese garden pics though! edit (somewhat later): need to process them - Flickr versions are 2010 full size jpgs probably default conversions in DPP. Whether they are wabi sabi or not remains to be seen.

I've had a go at the Japanese garden picture. Access was very limited. This is lighter than it was for sure but I was trying for a delicate interpretation. Garden of the Japanese Pavilion, Royal Palace, Brussels _MG_0002-Enhanced-NR.jpg by Pete, on Flickr

I have spent a while looking at this one thinking that the very carefully arranged, seemingly random shaped stones fit the bill. Wabi Sabi sounds like it would be on the artistic statement for this sculpture, even if misused.

Richard Long? I had to remind myself, yes Richard Long at Houghton Hall, Norfolk. 2017.
