Detecting a cacti theme here.

I think that one was used for seed.
One of my cacti, this one is about 30mm across, the flowers are no bigger than 5mm across and of an un interesting pale pink colour however the fruit are much more noticeable.

Went looking for apples but they've all been picked.

Rather blurry wind-falls.   Using fill-in flash without regard to the bright sunshine  so the ambient exposure (1/40 s) didn't really cut it.  Large crop because it was at the back edge of the border flowerbed.

It always reminds me of something else.

One they missed!  I had high hopes of Erddig because they have a lot of old varieties of apple and pear grown on trees trained against the garden walls as well as an orchard.   There is an apple festival upcoming (in celebration of the apple) and perhaps that is where they have all gone.
