I know it's not actually photography but after 50+ years of subscribing to AP I'm cancelling defeated by a missing copy. In days passed when a copy didn't arrive it was a simple matter to correct it. Now in spite of contacting the distributers and being referred to the AP website there is no way to contact them on a simple, as it was a few years ago, matter. A sign of the times?

Probaby. Nothing we do seems to involve interaction with another human being these days. Or at least, not one that can actually do anything. I think it's symptomatic of so much being given over to computers and databases

Missing copies: shop.kelsey.co.uk is their website but probably better to call 01959 543747 (office hours) I only once had to deal with a missing edition - back in 2020 - and the correspondence at that time was with Subs@kelsey.co.uk and I have had correspondence relating to late publication of AP from the Kelsey Publishing Customer Service Team on Kelsey.Media.Ltd@r1.dotdigital-email.com, again back in 2020.

Many thanks for that just a phone call sorted it if only they'd put it on the website I'd have saved an hour of mounting frustration on both theirs and the distributers sites.

A what grinds your gears...limited information on websites regarding contacting the company...we want your money but don't want to speak to you if it goes wrong

I cancelled my subscription a couple of years back and now don’t even go on the website. Since they cancelled the forum I lost interest

I can appreciate why subs are falling. I also think it would be quite a shame if AP failed. I continue to subscribe.

It seems to be a common problem today that it's really easy to buy or subscribe to something but extremely hard to do anything else, like amend or cancel. Or perhaps I'm just too old.

The publishers are not responsible for copies being lost in the post, and are helpful when this is reported to them. Always call them - don't waste time on the website. If you are in the UK, call Kelsey on 01959 543747 (from outside the UK the number is quoted as +44 1959 543747). They will want your customer number or name and postcode so that they can confirm your identity. I last did this in March this year and have the delivery note supplied with the replacement. I have a copy lost in the post 2 or 3 times a year, and I call them on the Wednesday after the expected delivery day of Saturday or Monday (to allow time for it being merely delayed), and ask for a replacement copy which is always sent promptly. So I have never missed a copy, but some have been read later than usual.

Having just received the 5th September edition I have to say that I am underwhelmed.

The website was the problem once I phoned them using the number from here there was an immediate and prompt resolution. Unfortunately were I not a member of the forum I wouldn't have known the number, certainly not from the website. Technology! It's the classic zero gravity pen approach where NASA spent 'millions' developing a zero gravity ball point and the Russians used a pencil.

I think it's symptomatic of so much being given over to computers and databases I agree. I'll repeat a cut down version of my recent universal credit help. Wait for interminable nonsense and button pressing, wait forever for a person to answer and then find that the person has no authority whatsoever - just a messenger.
I also complained about the temperature in a local supermarket to be told that the temp is controlled "by head office".

Mick Coincidence you should mention this. My Co-op is undergoing a revamp at present. Chaos reigns but we can't do without it so glad they've stayed open. However, today, instead of it being on the cool side, it was uncomfortably hot! I happened to be beside a member of staff when he was talking to someone as he held a thermometer adjacent to the fans controlling the freezer cabinets. He said 37 degrees - and I don't think he was talking fahrenheit.

When I worked in a supermarket we were told the heating was controlled by head office too, and as it is considered a warehouse there are no regulations on what the temperature has to be.... www.gov.uk/workplace-temperatures#:~:text=There's%20no%20law%20for%20minimum,for%20a%20maximum%20temperature%20limit.
