You had better agree, 'cos that's where he's going. grave 1 by Steve Ashton, on Flickr He wanted a "natural burial", so wicker coffin and no religion It's going to be where the brash is between the trees. S ps where do you lot want to go? I want a platform on a high pole for the view, but Bonnie says no, I'd drip on people.

any danger of flooding or contaminating the water supply, if not then that's a nice shady spot.

I want to be buried at sea, and I would like my enemies to come to the funeral on condition that they dance upon my grave

Given how much pleasure I've got from them, I'm quite happy to be left for the Ravens.

India's vultures have been dying off due to second hand ingestion of one painkiller in particular including from dead cows. Apparently the stricture not to harm can be interpreted as do not permit to suffer. Causing grief for a religion which excusively practices sky burials.

I'm not the only one allergic to Diclofenac then. I wonder if other NSAIDs (anti-inflammatories) have the same effect on birds. I know that dogs have to have their own painkillers such as Rimadyl, but some are nastier than others. Diclofenac is a powerful NSAID, usually considered more so than Ibuprofen or Aspirin. Perhaps that effectiveness is what is causing the issue.
I remember taking VIOX, which was a different type of NSAID, but considering the side effects (including a considerable amount of deaths) it is not surprising that these drugs kill wildlife so readily.

I was reading the other week about boil in the bag cremations. Seems fun. www.theguardian.com/society/2023/jul/02/boil-in-the-bag-environmentally-friendly-funerals-arrive-in-uk-resomation-acquamationI was always for burials and insisted that our daughter was buried rather than cremated. I wished we hadn't done it now though. Perhaps time will change but we want to move to a different part of the country but one of things stopping us is leaving Hannah's grave behind. If she had been cremated I know we'd feel at lot different. Conversely Hannah's next door neighbour coincidentally was a school friend who died a year before her. His gravestone appeared a good while after we buried her. He was cremated but his mum couldn't stand the thought of him not having a grave, so he has a full headstone on a full plot and not just a small comparative stone that you see in cemeteries. She treats it like he is there. We are off to India in February and will be spending a couple of nights in Varanasi. Will be quite interesting to see their cremations. I think we'll keep out of The Ganges though!

Was watching a video about folk getting cryogenic preservation the other week and asked the question is there a way to have a greater environmental impact after death. I'm still fine with being left in the woods to be recycled by beasties.

I want to be buried at sea, and I would like my enemies to come to the funeral on condition that they dance upon my grave My farther in law was cremated, the ashes were taken out to sea on a RN launch and dispatched, urn and all to the depths with full buried at sea ceremony of pipes and salutes. I don't know if that was a privilege of rank but it can and still is done.
