We have the 'proper' one, a decent sized plastic plant pot tray, and a couple of terracotta pot trays dotted around, and all get used as much for drinking as bathing. We also have a hanging water dispenser in which a young tit found it had enough space to bathe.

YOu all very nearly got a shot of the River Clyde for that reason!  No bird baths in my archives and no bird bath in the garden to even tempt some birds down with.  Perhaps I'll install one now.

I've not got much suitable for other interpretations, but I did think this shot shows the edge of a visual light cutting filter
